Featured Coffee
Irish Coffee was originally created by an Irish chef/barman, Joe Sheridan, as a warm and welcoming drink for a group of American passengers disembarked in Ireland from a Pan Am flight on a miserable winter evening in the 1940s. After the passengers asked if they were being served Brazilian coffee, Sheridan told them it was Irish coffee.
Stanton Delaplane, a travel writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, brought Irish coffee to the United States after drinking it at Shannon Airport, when he worked with the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco to start serving it on November 10, 1952, It has been a hit ever since.
Here is the real deal of Chef Joe Sheridan: his original recipe made even better with Joy Brazil Coffee beans
Ingredients
• 1 cup fresh brewed Joy Brazil Coffee St. Patrick’s Blend
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar
• 1 1/2 ounces (1 jigger) Irish whiskey
• 1 tablespoon lightly whipped cream
Preparation
1 - Pour the hot Joy Brazil Coffee St. Patrick’s Blend into a warmed glass until it is about 3/4 full.
2 - Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved; stir in the Irish whiskey.
3 - Top with lightly whipped cream, being careful not to blend cream with the coffee/whiskey. Serve hot!
